I don't know what it is, but I haven't felt like doing anything this semester. I have to force myself to do homework, and to pay attention in class. It's still (relatively) the beginning of the semester, and this is usually when I'm at my best. I don't even want to think about what kind of slacking I'll be doing at the end of the semester.

I have not given up on my fanfics! I continue to write, and to be plagued with the feeling that I'm writing everyone OOC. But I was thinking of posting sort of experimentally on another site, and seeing if people give me constructive criticism (specifically on how to get the character's speech patterns down).

I am sadly addicted to twitter. I use it to complain and rec things, and talk about which television shows I'm watching. And read about what DH is up to. *is pathetic*

I should go now, since I have homework that's due at 11:30.

what fandoms are you now writing in? sga? because i'd be happy to help with the speech patterns/etc as long as i know the characters well enough.

OH GOD TWITTER. there's hardly a time when i'm not logged in. but it's very good for stalking dh and misha randomly sharing small things you wouldn't really talk about anywhere else (ie. livejournal). it's really quite pathetic how gleeful i get everytime dh posts something, especially when it's about his family - he's just so adorable. :D

Mmhmm, SGA. Really, that's the only fandom I'm participating in; there's just so much fic and I want to read it all, which means I have no time for other fandoms. And, of course, I'm trying to write McKay/Sheppard, but as I sad before: I can't get the voices right. Their ways of speaking, the order they put their words in...*sad*

YES, EXACTLY. It's perfect for the little things and stalking. A great way to find out how your friends are/what their doing without a large post.

Oh man, every time DH mentions his son I get all mushy and I want to hug him. Adorable really is the best word for him. I feel sad for the people out there that don't know who he is; it's hard to explain his awesomeness unless they're familiar with both his work and his personality. I've tried!

yeah, i've always got a hard time with the voices, too. it's a lot harder than them thinking, because with that, you can take a few liberties, but not with how they actually talk. that's why i always like writing dialogue the least, unless it's for characters i'm confident i can actually write.

oh god, i know! and heeee, you saw this, right? SO FREAKING AWESOME. seriously. when i first saw it i just wanted to go all OMG PEOPLE HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO THIS MAN IS, because seriously, isn't he the best ever? :D

Yes! You put the problem into words perfectly. But I've decided to just write and not bother worrying about how everything sounds; I've heard about some of the fics that are posted on Wraitbait, and if those people are brave enough to post...
You haven't written a fic I didn't love though. You always have a good handle on the characters.

yay, good for you! besides, once you've actually gone and written it, it's easy to change a few things here and there to make it better, if changes even need to be made. i've noticed that stuff like that (dialogue, characterization) comes much more naturally when you don't think about it so much, because if you do, you only start thinking too much, you analyze every little word and that's not good. but awwwh, really? thank you. ♥

that sounds familiar, so probably, yeah. but i'm glad i could be of some help! i know it's hard to stop thinking about it too much, because the thinking's probably the reason for my never-ending writer's block, but maybe it'd help if whenever you start analyzing stuff, you tell yourself, well, that's something i'll come back to once i've written this next bit here, and on and on and on, and so that'd maybe be a way to do both at the same time.

Talking to you really has helped, and now I'm actually getting fics done, which is amazing for me. I'll probably hate every bit of it once I'm finished, but at the moment I'm quite happy with it. So thank you, I can't put into words how grateful I am. I feel FREE.

I stopped reading long, long ago. How long has it been since you've read a chapter? Oh man, I didn't expect to love SGA like I do. It's surprisingly addicting, and the fandom is larger than any other I've been in, and one of the nicest besides.

It's really off-putting having a fandom that's constantly warring or when it's just dead so it's good you have such a nice fandom. Is SGA the only one you're contributing in at the moment or are you ocassionally dabbling in anything else?

Mine too. I live in South-East England. Right now it's still snowing, lol. When Spring arrives we start getting more and more sunshine, with lots of rain showers.

I did get as far as the Future Arc, and that's what eventually convinced me that this manga wasn't worth the effort it was taking to read (in my opinion). I'm so tired of the constant drama and fighting; I want the old manga back, where it was dorky and hilarious and cute, with a little fighting thrown in. I never got really deep into the KHR fandom, so I'm not faimiliar with the warring or the deadness, but I can empathize.
Yep, SGA is the fandom I'm currently participating in. I've got several fics started, and there is a never ending amound of fanfic; truly the most prolific fandom I've ever been in.

AH. That's right, I remember you telling me about where you lived. I'm not sure why, but I thought you were in the U.S. That's great though, I've love to visit England. And ugh, it's snowing here too, Washington D.C got three feet of snow, breaking a record. Michigan only has about a foot and a half, but we're used to snow (not that it makes it fun).

Mm, I always associated England with rain, though I wasn't sure if that was a stereotype or not.

Yeah, that's why I fell out of the KHR fandom too (that and shipping a rarepair which never gets attention lol). I guess you probably aren't familiar with the manga Bakuman, but there was a reference to why manga like KHR change from gag to battle and it's interesting to see how much editorial pressures influence the style behind the scenes.

I-I don't know how to feel about that ;;OTL I'm genuine English, guv. Haha, I saw that in the news. Snowmageddon or whatever it was they were calling it XD

I know how you feel with "don't want a life" thing. I'm currently embroiled in a cold war of epic proportions with one of my roommates, I'm very seriously considering moving out, but I can't until next semester, but I honestly don't know how long I can survive this. I am dangerously depressed, my grandmother just died, and the only time I feel happy with when I'm at home with my family on the weekends, which only further encourages my isolation with my roommates.

I think I'm going crazy.
