First off: I noticed! All your shiny new icons were in my inbox this morning. :-D It's nice to change things up now and then. (Hell, I do it at least once a month!)

Second: It's so *weird* to be on your journal and not see your Rodney icon! I'm going to miss it so. ♥

My icons were in your inbox? Yeah, I need to change my things up every now and then - my tumblr and/or livejournal layout, my icons, etc. It's one type of change I do like!

Aw, I'm sorry :( I associate icons with certain people too, so I get how that feels.

Yes, I receive userpic updates in my LJ inbox. Not my email, though, not anymore, b/c that got old real fast, but I do love knowing when people find new icons. Plus it's sort of a *sekrit* way of learning where people's fannish proclivities are headed. *g* (Witness, if you will, a fan updating with a few new Avengers icons, and I can tell which characters and pairings they like, and then we can proceed to squee over them.)

Oddly enough, I never change my tumblr layout. I found the layout I liked and that was that. I would, however, like to change my dashboard layout, but I don't know how to do that yet. There seems to be no info about it in the FAQs either.

Where did you get that icon, anyway? The one with Rodney and the little ♥ zinging over his cheek? And also the belly one? *vbg* I may want to snag them if possible. :-D

Ooo, that's awesome. I'm jealous you can do that :P As you said, it'd be the perfect way to keep track of your friend's fannish interests! Do you have a paid account, or can anybody do that?

Oh wow, that's lucky! I always start out absolutely in love with my layout, but after awhile I want something new.

I actually know how to change your tumblr dashboard. Or at least, one way to do it. You install Stylish (firefox / chrome), and then you go to their website and search for a tumblr dashboard you like :)

Oh, um. If I ever have an icon you like, check my userpics page. I always credit :) What belly one are you talking about? I'll get my icon flashdrive and search for the one with Rodney and the little ♥ - I don't remember who made it...

Anyone can do it! I do have a paid account, but I could still see icons when I had a regular free account. They may have changed it to an opt-in thing rather than a default setting, but it's simple to change. Go to your inbox and at the top right it says "Manage Settings". Click that, and under "Friends & Communities" there is a line that reads One of my friends uploads a new userpic. You can change the settings to notify by your LJ inbox.

And thanks for the info on the tumblr dash! I will set that up.

The belly one, IIR, was Rodney, although I don't remember now exactly what it looks like! And I should've checked before, but alas, I did not. *facepalm* I always give credit as well.

Ooo, thanks for the heads up! I may have to start tracking people's icons :D It's kind of sad, how excited I am by this possibility :P

You're welcome! I found these awesome dashboard icons that were Stargate themed, but then tumblr changed their icons and now it just looks terrible.

I have a couple belly!Rodney icons, tbh. Later tonight when I get my flash drive one out to look for the ♥ cheek one, I'll also send along the belly!Rodney ones :P

Fair Trade is just love. When my friend wanted McShep recs, Fair Trade was one of the first things I rec'd to her :D
