100 Things Meme...slightly edited.
The Rules:
1. Pick a Thing.
2. Commit to blog about it100 125 times.
Awhile back I promised some people - I think
thebiggest_lie,
allofspace, possibly
prlrocks, and most likely
ember_firedrake - that I would make a huge rec post. I decided to combine it with the 100 Things challenge. Thanks for their encouragement, and a special thanks to
annundriel!
I chose fanfiction, which is really the only thing I can see myself blogging about that much. So I went and made a list of my favorite fanfiction, and came up with 125 out of the 21 pages on my delicious. Initially, my plan was to pick 100 fics and explain why I love them, but that idea fell through. Eventually all my recs begin to sound the same, and I think eventually my reasoning will devolve into BECAUSE I JUST DO. This will all be done unofficially of course, because my "Thing" exceeds 100 and because I won't be talking about why.
So I will post 5 fanfics a day, of varying lengths, of various fandoms (with a majority focus on Stargate: Atlantis).
☂ Indelible by
shaenie [Canon, 128381 words]
John has a useful gift for compartmentalization: he discards the irrelevant and moves on. Then Rodney makes an ill-considered move on a mission, John steps up to take responsibility for making reparations to the locals, and things take a turn for the complicated as Rodney, an alien society, and an armada of ships make standard operating procedure completely impossible.
☂ A Farm in Iowa by
sheafrotherdon [AR, 156239 words]
John inherits a farm, Rodney ends up entirely out of his element, and eventually there are kids.
☂ Trade Goods by
rosiepaw [Canon, 2835 words]
None of the time-IOUs are being turned in. No one has actually come to him with an IOU and a request for him to spend time at any particular task. It’s as if people were stockpiling them. But why?
☂ Even Horizon Books by daughtershade [AU, 25305 words]
The unique thing about Event Horizon, and something Rodney was quite proud of, was that the store itself was a physical representation of the mind of its owner. The filing system that had so amused Sheppard served a greater purpose. The problem was that Rodney hadn't yet figured out just what that purpose was. He only knew that he liked things a certain way. If one took a moment to piece the filing system together, they would realize that it told the story of one man, perched behind his counter, trying to fend off the world.
☂ The Courtship of Dorkbirds by
aesc [Canon, 1144 words]
Some time ago,
dogeared saw a nature program about the various courtship rituals of birds of paradise, one of which was that both birds would peck, poke, thwap, and generally harass each other. She observed that there are some Similarities of interest here.
I'm pretty sure I've rec'd these all before.

I'm biased though(That's entirely possible! I haven't come across too many fics with that title, so it makes sense that you'd mistake it for
