Hello! 1st Post & Explanation

I created this site mostly so I can keep track of the fanfiction I've read on here, and so I can be notified if an author I like updates (this site does do that, right?); I've been on this site before, and it gave me nothing but problems. I can't seem to figure out how to do anything on here, so this site will probably always remain fairly empty, except for fanfiction. Is there some way to keep track of the ones I like? Can I favorite it, or stick a link in a folder, or something? I'll have to play around and see.

Anyway, if I friend someone who is very picky about letting people do that, I'm sorry! Just let me know and I'll figure out how to unfriend people. 

Hmm...I like to write fanfiction, too, and I might end up posting some of my stuff here. I'm not sure how to do that either - do I post it as an entry, like I'm doing now? I suppose I'll have to just play around.

The heart button signifies "add to memories" which is a good way to keep track of things you enjoyed. And yeah, just post stories as entries, although you may want to use the "lj-cut" function. Check out the FAQ.

heeey! I finally added you.. although im not here a lot .. because well, LJ is tiring -_-
what you can do is search for communities and join them. Some of them ask for a petition to be sent to an e mail address (which lj does it automatically).. so then you have to check your mail to see if you were admited or not.
You will see communities update through your friends page. I have so many.. i cant keep track of everything xDD but oh well :3

To change your layout, go to journal and then to personalize journal (im not very sure about the names of that because my lj is in spanish -_- )
There you will have to chose a theme and you can modify your journal title and subtitle. The theme i have on my own layout is "blue gray" but.. of course i changed it :3
Once you've chosen the theme, at the top, right side you have your choice and below it it says something like "cuztomise your theme". Click there and you will have a menu displayed at your left with options such as "display" "style" "text" ,etc. Each one of them have a submenu with the things you can change.
ANd there.. just play. It will be smart to open photoshop or any art program with a wheel color or something that gives you the numbers of every color. Maybe you can search it through the net too.

That's what ive done to my layout..
i dont know how to use CSS so i cant put pics all over the place.. but at least i have it with a "decent" look xDDD

I spend a lot of time here, but mostly because I'm so busy reading fanfiction. I don't really post a lot of comments or anything :) Hmm...I've joined a few communities, but I've never had to submit a petition. I'm glad you told me about that, because if you hadn't then I probably would've deleted it.

OH, so that's how I tell a community has updated. My friends page, hmm....

Okay, I'm off to see what I can do with my layout and check my friends page. This has helped me a great deal - I'm going to go play with my layout page as soon as I post this response, lol.
