Your main fandom of the year?
Stargate: Atlantis, which comes as no surprise to anybody. What is surprising, toward the end of the year I managed to branch out into other fandoms (Supernatural, Inception, Teen Wolf, Merlin, Star Trek XI, Hawaii Five-O). I've never done as much branching out as I did this year. I usually have one main fandom, and one or two that I dabble in. I'm kind of proud of myself :)

Nothing has compared to SGA, though.

Your favorite film you watched this year?
A year ago was so long ago, I'm no longer sure what I watched this year, and what I watched last year. I watched Inception, which I loved. How to Train Your Dragon just recently, and it was adorable and happy making. David Hewlett's 1990 movie Where The Heart Is was *adorable*, but I'm completely and unashamedly biased.

Your favorite book read this year?
I am unashamed to say most of what I read this year was fanfiction. I read Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks, which was interesting and cute, as well as Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. It was good. Not fantastic, but interesting enough. The History of Love by Nicole Krauss is one of the most quotable books I've ever read. It's gorgeous. I suppose if I had to choose, that would be my favorite ♥

Your favorite tv show of the year? (That I discovered this year)
I started Hawaii Five-O this year, as well as Castle and Leverage. I watched Band of Brothers, North & South, BBC Sherlock, The Pacific, Generation Kill, Southland, Avatar: The Last Airbender, QI, and Due South. I've also started Stargate SG-1. I watched S1 of The Walking Dead and Heroes (though for Heroes that's all I'll probably watch). Never before have I watched such a variety of shows.

My favorite out of them all? Dear god. I'm going to go with Due South, since I usually rate my enjoyment of a show by how much fic I want to read of it. There wasn't a show I listed that I didn't like :) I tried watching Secret Circle and didn't care for it.

What was your favourite song from 2011?
Oh good lord. I'm pretty sure I'll be unable to choose. I discovered so many amazing songs this year - mostly by fanmixes. I'm going to go with the song that I've been listening to on repeat for the past couple of days, and that is A&B Song by Tom McRae. Someone on LJ recommended it as a great John/Rodney song :) Actually, most of the songs that I was extremely fond of were found through McShep fanmixes: I'll See Your Heart and Raise You Mine (Bell X1), Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, etc. etc. so obsessed with that ship omg

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
The lack of OT4 fic for Castle. The lack of well-written fic for AtLA (I know, I know, it's a kids show, but I can't help what I want.) This is more of a disappointment in myself, but I am saddened by my lack of love for BBC Sherlock. I like the show, but I don't love it, and have felt no urge to join the fandom.

Your fiction boyfriend of the year?
Rodney McKay. Let me love you, my cranky astrophysicist. Sarcastic scientist aside, probably Ray Kowalkski, Mr. Thornton, and/or Jack O'Neill. But really, it's all Rodney, all the time.

Your fiction girlfriend of the year?
Kate Beckett. Strong, intelligent, independent...mmm.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?
The Avengers. The Hobbit. And pretty much more of every show that I'm already watching that is still on-air.

What was your favourite moment of the year?
Visiting Sarah in Nebraska. Going to Comic*Con in Chicago, and then a few weeks later travelling to Atlanta for Dragon*Con. Meeting Misha Collins and David Nykl and getting their autographs. I met James Marsters too, and he was wonderful :)

Where were you when 2011 began?
Right here. Sipping champagne with my family and hoping this year would be better than the last.

Where were you when 2011 ended?
Right here, celebrating with family and internet friends via tumblr and twitter. Laughter, fondness, and wishes for a good year :D

Did you fall in love in 2011?
IRL? No. I'm much too much of a hermit for that. I fell in love with an assortment of fictional characters, however. Steve McGarrett, Stiles Stilinski, Ray Kowalski, and so on :D

Did you make any new friends in 2011?
Oh my goodness, yes. I believe Ashley (ember_firedrake) and I became friends this year, and just recently Collette (wolvinheart). There's Lisa (thebiggest_lie), Laura (prlrocks), and Mamie (ru_salki99). I may have met you in 2010 - I can't quite rememeber when we did meet - but it feels like this year we've really grown closer. I am ridiculously fond of you all.

What are your plans for 2012?
Making actual headway in getting my degree. No more slacking! Getting a job to help support my family more. Other than that, pretty much the same old stuff: fanfiction. Hopefully I'll write more this year, even if I choose not to post. I've signed up for 750words, which will help. I think.

What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
A job. And more fic actually written, rather than simply planned out.

What was the last book you read?
A Christopher Moore's "A Dirty Job". It's a re-read, and never fails to make me laugh.

What do you wish for 2012?
For the year not to end as badly as this one did. It seems like all the family/friend deaths happen at the end of the year. I wish for less worrying about bills and how we'll pay them. More fun, more laughter. For everyone.

they actually refer to sherlock and john as a couple. EVEN MOFFAT SHIPS IT.

but it's okay, i know you ship them too, even though you didn't get into the fandom. (you do ship them, right?) :D

Indeed, I met the Overlord. We chatted for a minute or two about my homestate; he was extremely pretty and very nice :)

It was amusing - while waiting in line for photo-ops with a friend (I did not get a photo op, because I take horrible pictures and would be unable at the picture). Misha wandered by the room we were lining up in and went, "Who are you waiting for?"

And we replied, "God."

Good times, good times.

Man... I want to meet him so bad... T__T ... but there is a sad lack of Cons near me... and I have not the funds to go out of state for one. *le sigh*

I'm lucky in that I live only 4 hours (by train) away from Chicago, which hosts a few *cons. I had to fly to Georgia though, and I got lucky - I flew down with some friends, and they paid for the room. I saved up for nearly a year to go :)

I second your boyfriend/girlfriend of the year! What fine yummy choices...

I've also gotten a lot of my music lately from fannish endeavors, though more vids than mixes. (This is the sole reason I purchased a Britney Spears CD last year.)

Oh, I hear you about fanvids too - there's this Britney Spears song that I like, ever since I saw it paired with Rodney in a fanvid XD
