McShep tumblr, NaNo, babbling

Briefly posting to pimp out my McShep-everyday tumblr. 'Cause I can.

I'm participating in NaNo, and weirdly my desire to actually complete it hasn't diminished O.o Very odd for me.

Despite this, I've still fallen behind on my word count. ~Oops. As I'm sure you all are dying to know, I'm writing an HP/SGA fusion. When ember_firedrake and I first started talking about this, we talked about following them through the years. But that would be a fic much larger than 50,000 words, so I'm not sure quite what to do. Skip a year? Write the first year, where they become friends. Skip to third year when they get to choose their own classes and start seriously contemplating dating and all of that?

Perhaps I'll write every other year. IDK. Mostly I'm just doing this because it's fun, I'm not sure if I'm even going to post. i can't write, you see. i'm very bad at it.

How gay is Merlin getting? WHAT ARE THESE HOMOSEXUALS DOING. JUST GET MARRIED ALREADY.

Watching Castle with ember_firedrake - FUN SHOW IS FUN. And the UST is killing me.

I watched Band of Brothers and The Pacific with thebiggest_lie recently. SUCH GOOD SHOWS, UGH. So heartbreaking though. I have such a huge crush on Snafu and Speirs and Lipton. And Sledge is adoooorable <3 My bbs. We're going to watch Generation Kill soon. sd;kaj;a RAY. And BRAD and NATE. AND WALT. dak;fjsa; I cannot wait. I hope she likes, despite it not being WWII :P

Sloowly starting The Sentinel - I'm about half way through the first episode, lol. I keep pausing. I want to watch The Secret Circle, too - I loved the books. And I will forever ship Cassie/Nick, no matter how the show goes. THEY WERE MEANT TO BE IN THE BOOKS. Forget Adam :\ Slooooooowly working my way through Stargate SG-1. It hasn't grabbed me like SGA did. But I hear season 1 is the weakest.

I'm recovering from a cold :\\\ I hate being sick. It was difficult to get anything done.

I am a total Tudor history nerd, but I hate how the history went cause all my favorites from that period where executed. So I am working on an alternate historical fic in the era.

Aka Historical figures embodying my favorite characters from fandom...seriously I got one couple mimicking River/Doctor and another mimicking Jack/Ianto =P

season is definately the weakest. "Solitudes" is just the only episode about worth watching in that season, but it makes struggling through the others worth it.

Solitudes was very good :) I just finished that one, and I'm moving on to There But For the Grace of God. Almost done with S1!

that one's not so bad either. once you get through S2, SG1 is mostly solid until you get to S8, so it's worth the pain!

"There But For The Grace of God" surprised me, because for the first time I was actually looking forward to more episodes. Mostly the only thing that's kept me going is knowing that S2 gets better. It's weird for me to be happy about more SG-1 O__o

I think SGA will always own my heart though.

Yeah. And, please, whatever you do, don't try SGU. It started out interesting, but by episode 8 I was too disgusted to solider on with it.

I watched the first episode and quite enjoyed it. But then I heard about the body-switching episode, and...no. Just, no.

I did, however, watch the episode with Rodney McKay. But I only did that *for* Rodney.

Yeah. "Earth" was just wrong on so many levels. Is the Rodney one worth watching? 'Cause I stopped after the body-switching one.

I really liked the Rodney one, but I have a huge crush on David Hewlett/Rodney McKay, so I'm probably biased? There's no mention of what's going on with Atlantis, though. We do get Everett (?) saying that John Sheppard was right about Rodney, though ;) And Rodney in a suit. And an adorable argument between Eli and Rodney.

But, um. Those were mainly why I watched.

Hmm. I might then. But mostly I just can't bring myself to even *think* about SGU except in context of an Ancient!John/SGU xover. Which proves I've significant issues, I'm sure.

Haha, I don't think it means you have significant issues. There are other fics out there that rewrite canon, so :P

All I can say is give it a try - if nothing else, at least it means Rodney McKay will be on your screen on last time.

Actually, right now I'm hoping someone will release the script for the SGA movie they never made/never will make.

Yeah. I think I'm going to cry when I watch the last SG-1 Rodney episode. Even if he is an ass in it, it'll be the last one. Oh god, I'm not ready.

Brad Wright or Martin Gero...one of those guys -- they did release the basic premise of it. But not a full script, no.

Me too. I've also seen pictures of their planning board for Season 6 of SGA. They had some concepts I *really* would have liked to have seen.
