Because it's me, there would be McShep. And without doing research first, I have to warn I don't know much about Ancient Rome off the top of my head. That said:

Rodney comes from a well-to-do family that loses everything. Rodney ends up taking a job in the household of Sheppardus, mainly to serve their youngest child, John. Rodney's never interacted much with the rest of his class equals; but he's always had a particular dislike of slouchy, pretty, John (whom everyone loved). But all is not what it seems in House Sheppardus, and in order to survive - and regain his family's former position - John and Rodney will have to work together, but it's difficult when neither trusts the other.

In a galaxy fairly near Earth, relatively speaking, certainly closer than the Pegasus Galaxy - perhaps the void between the Milky way and Pegasus, yes? There is a ragtag crew...

Rodney likes to think The Team - plus Carson and Elizbeth and Radek - work in "requisitions". Well, that's not really true, since they don't so much formally ask as take whatever the hell they need at a moments time. It's not easy fighting the Wraith, and nobody else seems inclined to! Rodney lived in a constant state of fear that the Atlantis would fall apart with him in it, so he practically slept in the engine room; none could budge him, not even Teyla's persuasion or Weir's diplomacy. It was fine though, totally find, because Glittering Schrodinger McAwesome totally didn't mind staying in there with him; his beautiful unicorn companion was as sharp of mine and eye as Rodney himself.

She had horrible taste in unicorns though, since her natural shine and sparkle got brighter by two whenever Sheppard's lothario Sparklies Spiky McFly was around. Rodney would scold Glitter, but it did absolutely no good. Rodney knew what unicorn companions got up to in their spare time! And her protests of being trapped on a ship with only two possible mates definitely didn't convince Rodney. Spiky was a Casanova, a love 'em & leave 'em type. His Glitter deserved better!

And then the unicorn companions join up with John to get curmudgeon Rodney out of the engine room and into John's room. THE END :p

JOHN EVEN HAS *CURTAINS* THAT SPARKLE. CLEARLY HE IS A FAN OF IT. IN FACT, HE HAS THOSE CURTAINS ABOARD THE ATLANTIS; THEY DO SO REMIND HIM OF RODNEY'S SPARKLING EYES WHEN HE'S EXCITED.

Ronon's would be SUNSHINE FLOWERTIP SHADOWCASTER (the last because when Ronon's unicorn attacks, his shadow is the last thing you ever see. ronon has a secret fondness for just "Sunshine" though). And Teyla's would be SERENITY PEACEFINDER BADASSERY, because, well. no explanations necessary :P
