I have given in to many, many people's demands and have gotten a facebook. So far I've managed to remember to check it, though I still don't see what the big deal is. What do you do on it?

....I have nothing else to say. I AM SO BORING. oh, oh, I had a dream about that tv show, Eureka!, so I want to watch it. And I'm all caught up with nu!Doctor Who, so yay! When I get enough money, I'm buying season one.

My family has been up from Virginia since last Saturday, so I've been away from home for the past three nights. I'm exhausted, and I hurt, because tubing is dangerous!  And with visiting family comes the family drama, which I find exhausting as well.

Because I probably won't post again until weeks from now, Happy Birthday Sarah H! I hope you have fun in Georgia.

You play addicting online games on it and keep in touch with friends in it.

For the games the most popular and most stable are the PopCap games (like Bejeweled), Pet Society, Restaurant City, Cafe World, Farmville, and Mafia Wars.

Hmm. Well, the keeping up with friends thing seems easy enough.

I've only heard of a couple of those games, though. I heard they're addicting, and that I should avoid Farmville. But thanks for the explanation :) I think I'll still stick to LJ; there's fandom here. *is obsessed*

Yup, they ARE addicting. It just came to a point with me that they didn't offer anything more for me, so I dropped them all. ^^;;

I heard I shouldn't get involved with Farmville because you end up bugging friends for gifts or something, and it gets annoying. So I'm like, "Hmm...to play or not to play?" But it's kind of a moot point, because I never log in.

Also Virginia? I live in Kentucky lol It's hard for me to comprehend a lot of people so close by being on livejournal.

I like this one game on addicting games.com called "Red Remover" or something. If facebook had that, I'd be logging in all the time.

My family lives in Virginia, I live in Michigan. BUT YES. I'm always surprised when I run into someone from the U.S, actually, which seems stupid because the U.S has a lot of citizens.

It's a good question. What does one do on a facebook? I waste hours on it somehow. And I don't even play farmville anymore... I guess "face stalking" is fun?

Nope, you didn't! *is grateful* But it seemed like for awhile there, EVERYONE kept saying, "Do you have a facebook? You should get a facebook." and they would NOT LET UP.

lolol "face stalking". What a hilarious way of putting it. "I stalk just your face, nothing else." But yes! I understand that some people can't figure out what to do on LJ (as crazy as that seems), but facebook seems to have so little variety.

I love livejournal. Buuuuut, I don't update all too often even though my brain runs a mile a minute thinking about fandom. After a bit of consideration, facebook is decidedly easier to update. Just click a few buttons and your stuff gets out... well, no... that's not true. Livejournal is easy to update. But for pictures and one liners (twitter?) facebook works quite quickly.

Maybe I'm just sad because if I put one line up on facebook people comment, but I can write a whole long thing on livejournal and nobody cares (specifically I'm talking about my other journal).

Twitter and facebook do have a similar method of posting. But I already have a twitter, so facebook seems redundant. I'm just going to use it to keep up with my family, I guess.

Ahhh, I didn't know that. A lot of people don't like to read, so if you post something big they don't bother reading. Perhaps that's why?

the only reason i have a facebook account is because my friends practically made one for me. not that that did any of them any good, because lol, i'm never logged in, i never do anything there, i'm never nowhere even near it. :D idk, it's just not for me. i'm happy with eljay and twitter. :D

LJ is good for fandom, facebook is okay for real life. I find mostly it's just people posting embarrassing pictures. It also removes the need for actual conversation, since you can just 'like' comments instead of contributing. Is it obvious I'm biased? orz

Good distinction between LJ and Facebook :) I think I'll use FB mostly as a method of keeping in touch with family, and just live on LJ like I have been. Perhaps, but I approve of your reasoning.

Thank you! It was alright. I was injured the day before, and it was the night before my family was returning to Virginia, so it turned out kind of meh.

I use it mainly to keep in touch with my family, since I found out almost all of them have an account. Easier to keep track that way. Also, Farmville. My sister asked me to be her neighbor and from then on I was hooked. (I'm sure my interest will fade, but for now, it has its claws in me. ^^')

I never see my family, so using it to keep in touch is a good idea. I just never know what to say. Our lives are so different.

Ah, Farmville, that and Mafia Wars are the two Facebook games I've heard most about. I was also told not to get involved in Farmville, though I don't remember why now...
