my dear
the problem is that
you love him so much
you would allow him
to drag you all the way to hell
if it meant you could
hold his hand
on the way down

Date: 2010-05-17 06:20 am (UTC)Nina was amazing. Kinda scary at times (he sure had an awful temper), but utterly and completely fantastic. X3
Where are you right now in the series? :3

Date: 2010-05-17 07:35 am (UTC)I am -- at this very moment, in fact -- watching episode 1 of season 2. My friend and I coordinate it so that we hit "play" at the same time, so we can giggle and fangirl together :)
I loved Nine so much, I'm kind of worried about how I'll like Ten. Which is amusing, because originally I wanted to start with Ten, since I had no interest in Nine.

Date: 2010-05-17 07:56 am (UTC)(did you start by watching the Christmas Special? because if you didn't there's a lot you're going to be missing...)
Ooooh, that's the best way to watch something!! I only wish I had someone to watch the new Doctor Who episodes with... it's just not the same thing to squee about something when you have to worry about spoilers. ^^U
Feel free to fangirl with me, too! Tell me, how did you like the "Defabricator" and the "Am I naked in front of millions of viewers?" XD
And the Jack/Doctor kiss? Wasn't that wonderful but heartbreaking? (though since you already knew he'd survive, I suppose it wasn't so sad for you. ^^U)
Oh, don't worry, you'll love him, too. The Doctor's the Doctor, and the Doctor's amazing no matter what skin (and personality) he's wearing. Ten was voted the best Doctor at one point, and considering how much I loved him I had my reservations about Eleven... but now I'm loving Eleven, too. Each actor brings something new to the character, but the Doctor remains essentially the same. X3

Date: 2010-05-21 07:37 am (UTC)I still miss Nine though.(I did watch the Christmas special, though I ended up watching S2E1 before I did the Christmas Invasion. Both episodes were absolutely epic, though.)
It's certainly fun! We'll quote funny lines together, and laugh at Mickey, and so on XD I'm sorry you had nobody to watch & squee with, but at least you aren't one of those poor souls unaware of the awesomeness that is Doctor Who
HAHAHA As soon as those robots said "Defabricator", I was giggling helplessly. And Jack was so shameless! It was awesome. I would have loved for Rose and the Doctor to have found him naked XD Imagine their reactions!
IT WAS HEARTBREAKING, YES. Mostly because I knew Nine was coming to an end, and I like Nine/Jack.

Date: 2010-05-21 09:37 am (UTC)Don't worry, that's normal. It happens to all of us every time there is a regeneration. It's worse when you're watching all the pisodes in one go, because you barely have the time to start loving one Doctor before you are switched to the next, but when you watch the episodes as they come you have time to mourn the old one and get used to the idea of a new one... hopefully you'll take Eleven's change into Twelve better (which is still far into the future, but we do know it's coming someday. There's going to be at least thirteen Doctors... possibly more, if they decide to skip a very important piece of Whovian canon in order to keep the show alive longer).
Me, I'm kind of fond of Eight, too. He's very much ignored, because he only showed up in screen in a not-very-succesful 1995 movie, and for a long time he wasn't even canon for most of the fans (as the old Who series had ended with Seven and there were a couple other versions of Eight in others forms of media), but he went on to live his adventures in Audio Dramas... and those are perfect to play in the background while I'm knitting. He had a really sweet voice, and he was unfailingly polite (very much unlike Ten XD) but he had a really quirky sense of humour. He was once sent to the gallows, and decided to make his last words a plea for his innocence, since he was guilty of nothing more than having had a horrid sense of fashion in previous incarnations (look up pictures of all the Doctors and you'll see what he meant). He even got a parking ticket for parking his Tardis wrong once. XD
Oh, Jack is shameless, alright. He's the only one who could flirt with those robots, honestly (in fact, a common consensus among the fans is that the only thing he won't flirt with is a Dalek ^^U).
Mickey was awesome. His "Captain Cheesecake" made me giggle for five full minutes. XD (it's also common agreement that Mickey is about the only being in the Universe immune to the Captain's charm. Heck, even the Doctor flirted back at times, and he's pretty much asexual... though not all the time. Rose had a certain... influence on him, which we all have to thank her for. ;D)
If Rose and the Doctor had found him naked it would have been... well, the Doctor would have been all "Aren't you cold like that?" and Rose would have been delighted, of course. Unexpected naked Jack is never unexpected. XD
(oh, and you'll get to see the Doctor naked once. Not gonna tell you when, though. XD)
To tell you the truth I'm not much of a Jack/Doctor fan, because in my opinion the Doctor was a jerk when he left him behind in the station, and the explanation he gives later on makes him sound even more of a jerk, but there's no denying that Jack is crazy in love with the Doctor. Of course, Jack can be crazy in love with a lot of people at the same time, and squeeze a couple of sex-only relationships in the mix, too... ^^U
Are you planning on watching Torchwood, too? If you do, there's a particular order in which you probably should do it, so as not to have one show spoil the other... Torchwood season one starts after the end of doctor who season two, and ends just before episode eleven of season three (and I do mean just before). Torchwood season two starts right after that, and you should watch that to the end before you reach the final episodes of season four of DW...
Skip Torchwood season three altogether. It's just not worth it. If you MUST watch it, though, skip the final two episodes. Come to think of it, you might want to skip the last two episodes of season two as well... or at least the very last one. To this day, I haven't been able to rewatch it. It was awesome but so very painful... >_<
Of course, you can just keep watching Doctor Who to the end and then start with Torchwood, but like I said, you'll get a lot of spoilers that way (not too many, though. It's worse to watch Torchwood first, trust me... I did it that way and I can't express just how confused I was at every mention of this "Doctor" fella. The writers assumed people knew who he was, which I didn't, not back then ^^U).
