You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

1. FIRST NAME
Melissa. I was named after the song "Sweet Melissa" by the Allman Brothers; my family likes to joke that they were wrong on the sweet part XD They originally wanted to name me Angel, but my grandparents threw a fit so my parents went, "Dear god, let's not just to shut them up." Haha ^________^
2. AGE
I turned 20 this past July. It's hard to believe that I'm in my twenties now -- I long for my childhood, when the biggest worry I had was whether or not I'd complete my homework in time to go outside and play.
3. LOCATION
Michigan, United States. I don't want to say the city because my journal isn't f-locked. Anyway, for those of you who aren't all that familiar with the layout of the U.S (and why would you be?), Michigan is the state on the Canadian border that looks like a mitten.
4. OCCUPATION
Student! I have no job, instead focusing on my studies. That will probably change next fall, when I'm going to be a part-time student. I'll definitely have time for work then. >:P I don't want to work! If only fandom was a job, lawl.
5. PARTNER
Single and fine with it :) I don't understand why people are so set on having a boyfriend or girlfriend. It's not like it's necessary for your survival. And anyway, I'm much too shy in person to actively pursue someone *shrug*
6. CHILDREN
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I'll see someone with an adorable kid, or I'll see a child do something so cute, and I want one. But then I think about all the work that goes into actually having one, and I get terrified. They depend on you for everything, and I can barely spend a day alone with the family pet (who is so, so spoiled) without longing to run away. No, I wouldn't be a good mother.
7. BROTHER'S & SISTERS
I have only half-siblings. I grew up with one, my brother Michael. He's two years older than me and we have the same mother. He's...tall and thin (even if he can eat everything in sight and not gain an ounce) and annoying and...he's a pretty nice guy, actually. And he actually cares about me, even though I used to beat him up when we were kids (then again, I beat everyone up, unless you were my friend -- in which case I was overprotective and beat people up who tried to beat them up.) I have a half-sister named Teresea that I don't think I've ever met. We have the same father, and she lives in Florida.
8. PETS
A dog; chihuahua-Terrier mix. She's a little devil -- my family calls her "diablo" when she's being particularly annoying. We've also nicknamed her "Queenie" because she always gets her way. Actually, we have a lot of nicknames for her, including "Sadie-bug", "Pretty girl," and "Lady-bug". It's a wonder she knows her name. She's currently sleeping on the couch.
She's spoiled.
9. LIST THEFIVE THREE BIGGEST THINGS GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE
A. School -- I'm tired of attending the school I'm currently at, and I'm thinking of transferring. I still haven't settled 100% on a new major, but I think I might go into Computer Science. I love computers!
B. New Fandom - I suppose it isn't new anymore, but I'm still heavily into SGA and slowly making my way through the ENORMOUS amounts of fanfic. I'm also re-watching the show XDDD
C. Christmas -- My favorite time of year! I love the classic cartoons they show and the giving of presents and the festive lights hung up all around town. I don't, however, like snow.
10. PARENTS
Um, my parents names are Jeff and Patti. My dad was married previously for a couple of years. They got married a month before I was born, lol. They used to stay up all night watching horror movies when they first met, which I approve of, because YAY HORROR MOVIES XDD
11. WHO ARE YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS
As funny as this will sound, probably Sarah and Sarah. I've known Sarah M. for about three and a half to four years -- we met through the HP fandom. We only ever talked online, though this past June I flew down to Nebraska and stayed at her house for 6 days, which was awesome. She's smart and funny and she has red hair too XP Sarah H. I've known for only about a year or so, maybe a little longer. We met at school, and I originally knew her mother better. The combined efforts of Sarah H. and Essi got me into SGA, and I often talk to Sarah about fandom related stuff. Sarah's smart too, and she's funny, and she totally encourages my love for David Hewlett with pictures and discussions about his movies and icons. I talk to both Sarah's every day.
