New shiny fandom: Stargate Atlantis

I'm still new, but there are SO MANY awesome authors in that fandom. So I've mostly been reading fanfics, and in one of them Rodney says (and I'm paraphrasing), "The reason Carter doesn't like me is because the first time I met her, I told her to leave one of her men behind."

So now I want to read a fanfic where Carter gets to witness Rodney being concerned for his team members especially John and see his total willingness to risk his life to save theirs. I love reading fics where people change and old acquaintances get to see the new side XP

Good luck finding that though. Maybe someday~

One Piece Chapter 550
I read spoilers, so I already knew about Ace's familial connections, but wow. Odacchi certainly seems talented at throwing the fans a curveball out of nowhere, doesn't he? I want to know more about Ace's mother, too. Someone said something about Ace and Luffy no longer being brothers, but cousins, and mentioned Portgas D. Rouge being Garp's daughter? I don't remember if that's a theory or what though.

I really need to continue re-reading that series -- I'm reminded why I found it so awesome and unpredictable the first time around.

Hee! I have a shiny new fandom, too, which is actually a kind of old fandom--BtVS. Fun times, fun times.

Oh, I used to love BtVS! That was in my pre-fandom days, actually. I've occasionally thought about visiting the fandom, but I have no clear idea of what I ship, so. Is the fandom very large? And active?

I never actually watched it when it was airing, not even re-runs. Diving in was sort of fun. :) I've only seen up to seaon four.

Hmm...the fandom is pretty huge, coming as I do from the CLAMP fandom (which, while big, is pretty insular and tight in a lot of ways). There's plenty of activity, though, just about everywhere I look--lots of fic being written, older fic isn't necessarily forgotten, and there's award contests and fic fests all over.

As for shipping...I guess it depends on your preference, really. The BtVS cast is potentially kinda huge, so there's ships of everything, from Buffy/Angel to Buffy/Faith to Xander/Oz and Xander/Cordelia and much, much weirder all over the place. There's pretty much something for everybody when it comes to shipping, trust me.

(I've seen, though not read, Spike/Riley, Faith/Dawn, Oz/Willow/Tara...BtVS fandom likes them some multishipping, let me tell you!)

Oh, and the icons are lovely, too. I don't have one uploaded to LJ...maybe I should change that.

Oh, me too! I started watching it when they were showing re-runs -- I was only in the beginning of the second season, and I managed to catch an episode from somewhere around the 5th season -- and I was so confused. Good times XP Haha, where are you watching it, anyway?

Yeah, I get what you mean about the CLAMP fandom, as limited as I am involved with it. It's great that new fic is still being written, and the old stuff isn't forgotten. That always makes the fandom sound like it's a good one.

Y-yeah. That's really the problem, I guess. I have an almost unhealthy love for Giles though, so he'd probably end up being my fandom whore >.< Those are some...mind-bogglingly weird pairings, lol. Though Oz/Willow/Tara sounds cool :) I love Oz!

Ooo, you should! I'd love to check them out. Though there's no pressure to do so, of course!

I picked up some season sets from my library/the evil conglomerate known as Wal-Mart, and I've watched it up through the fourth season (in order, even!). I don't actually have TV channels. ^^;

Yeah, there's lots of new fic being written, especially at Twisting the Hellmouth; the problem with that site is that it's like a Buffy-centric ff.net. :/ But there's a lot of good authors out there that still write lots of stuff.

Ooh, another lover of the English librarian, yay! I love Giles to bits, so if you ship him with anybody and the nearest fencepost, don't worry--you'll find plenty of fic. (*cough* summer_of_giles *cough*)

Ahaha, I just grabbed a bunch that I could remember off the top of my head. The most popular ones I've seen have been things like Angel/Spike and Spike/Buffy and Spike/Xander--notice a trend?--but there's lots of different stuff out there.

AH. What a good way to do it -- at least that way you don't have to wait for new episodes to be released, that way! Aw, no TV Channels -- I know a couple places where you can watch tv shows online, if you're interested.

Hmm...I really will have to check out that fandom, then. I always feel sad when I'm in a fandom that's slowly dying because the show is finished and fans move on. So to read that the Buffy fandom is still going strong is great!

Oh yes ♥ I had such a crush on him. And I like Anthony Stewart Head too -- he sings really well. LOL "Nearest fencepost", that's great. (as;dkjfa;ska thank you SO MUCH for the link to that comm)

So, Spike's a pretty big thing, then? =P Not that I don't think he's hot or anything. Spike/Xander? I don't. Wow. That's just....wow. Cool XDDD

I picked it up because I was bored with the internet and all my videos at home. Little did I know....

Actually, no TV has been interesting. The only things I really miss are Doctor Who and PBS.

Oh, Buffy fandom will likely never die. XD There's a season 8 in comics, but I have no interest in picking them up at this point--I'm still wondering if I really, really want to see the later seasons. Hmm.

Giles is faboo. I love him and the other Scoobies the best--the original core four (or five, if you count Cordelia). That comm is a nice one, and there's some really wonderful authors in it.

Yeah, he is. I've gotten through season four and he's okay in a snarking-pathetic kind of way, but my character loves are still the core four. The emo!vamps never really did it for me.

And yes, lots and lots of Spike/Xander. Some of it's pretty awful, but there's quite a bit that's not too bad.

:D (It is an immature term, and I think that's part of the charm--you connect it to "those meddling kids" and then here comes this English librarian with glasses and tweed and a glare. So fantastic.)

It sure was. I kind of wonder how much Luffy knows about Ace. Probably not about his dad, but he never seemed to wonder about Ace's name (if he even knows it). Oh well, Luffy doesn't even really seem to care about his own father. lol.

lol Luffy seems to exist in this state of..."not caring". He knows his father is Dragon and is fighting the World Government, but since it hasn't had any bearing on his life he just doesn't care. Same with Ace -- Ace was always like a brother to him, therefore he is his brother, bloodlines be damned.

THAT IS SO AWESOME. I HAD NO IDEA, REALLY! I'm looking forward to getting to know Carter, from what I've seen she seems pretty kickass. *squeaks* She has high regard for them? That makes me so happy, I feel like capslocking my joy! It'd be hard to miss McKay's worry for the others, since he frequently gets this devastated look when one of them (but mostly John) is in danger. a;skas I just watched "Irresponsible", and when Kolya was going to shoot Rodney, Ronon steps in front of Rodney and says, "Me first!" and then Teyla was like, "No, me!" and Caron goes, "Shoot me!" and Rodney peeks around Ronon's hulking figure and goes, "Um?" I re-watched that scene like five times, it was so awesome. SUCH TEAM LOVE, I CANNOT GET ENOUGH. (lawl, John is changing Rodney with his manly love. And Carter gets to witness it, so jealous!) AS;DKJA;S I WANT TO SEE IT SO BAD, THE SHRINE SEEMS SO EPIC.

You have discovered one of my great loves. <333 I've loved Stargate since SG-1, and that series went on for ten seasons. XD Atlantis is a sort of spin-off. Ish. Kinda, more like a sequel. *shrugs* Whatever, it's AMAZING. :D

don't worry about it. McShep is my Atlantis OTP. \o/ If you ever find yourself with a lack of stuff to read, head on over to my memories. ;) LOADS of awesome McSheppiness. I haven't seen SG-1, though I have seen the movie from a long time ago. I did know that Atlantis was connected closely to SG-1, but I wasn't aware it was a spin-off/sequel-ish type thing.

It's probably a good thing you do, or some of the fanfiction could be confusing and then you'd have to stay away from F-lists where people are squeeing about the latest big revelation~ DOOD. *glomps* You're gonna love this fandom. <3<3<3 It's fantastic, and there are several amazing writers in it. Heh, I never saw the movie, but I do know there are different actors in the movie and in the series. I say Atlantis is sequel-ish because at the end of SG-1, they discover a way to make it to Atlantis, and so SGA sorta picks up where it left off, with different people. And of course, they discover the Wraith, so there's a new evil out there for them to fight. :D

AREN'T THEY SO HOT No problem. XD You should also check out mcsheplets, if you haven't already. They're a challenge comm for McShep. I think there's a comm for Lorne/Parrish, if you're interested… then again, you might not have heard of Parrish yet. ;) He doesn't show up until mid season two, and very briefly. But they're so cute together! <3

Haha, yeah. I can't help it! >_> I see a "SPOILER" warning, but my traitorous hand goes, "Sweet! More One Piece!" and I'm reading it. *headdesk* Mmm, that's true.
