Work has become unbearable.

We're busier than ever. My manager has started micromanage us and it's fucking everything up. We had a rhythm going. We were the best in our market and were even winning market-wide challenges without even trying. But now everyone is stressed and morale is so fucking low. My vacation is coming up, but not fast enough. I'm dreading going into work every day and it never used to be like this. I'm more exhausted and emotionally wiped out than I have been during this entire pandemic. Hello, anxiety~

The only potentially good thing that's happened lately is they've announced they're restructuring management which means the assistant manager who's doing this might be shuffled to a different department/store. But it also means we might lose our department managers, who are honestly the only saving grace (management-wise) of the department lol. Of course, there are worse assistant managers than our current one, so even her leaving might lead to worse things.

I don't really anticipate the sweeping changes everyone is talking about. I honestly think most people are going to stay where they are. I can't decide if I'm pleased or not about that.

Thank you ♥ I hope so too. I don't even necessarily want this manager to leave. If she could just STOP MICROMANAGING, I feel like things would improve. But if it takes her leaving for change, I'm all for it.

micro managers are the worst. It seems like nothing gets done. Why, yes. I have had experience with this.

It absolutely seems like nothing's getting done! And we're overworking ourselves to try to get all the crap done she wants us to.

Thank god for vacation. I might actually stock up on alcohol this time LOL

In this so easy to replace you times, sometimes a little power can corrupt people and they become tyrants. I hope she leaves and you keep the people you want to stay. Stress sucks and when you hate to go to your job it's hard to stay happy and productive and it drags you down. I had many a job like that. Stay positive hon and I hope your vacation comes quickly so you can de-stress.

We actually have our annual employee survey right now, so a lot of people are taking the opportunity to speak up. Hopefully, at the very least, she gets talked to about all this.

I really like my coworkers, and the job isn't bad. But lately it's just been awful - I miss being excited to go into work and see everyone. It's calmed down slightly - she still wants us to follow the board, but she isn't quite as militant about it. Which means we have wiggle room :P
