As if things weren't stressful enough, we're experiencing severe flooding. Two dams have failed due to record breaking rain, roads are collapsing, businesses are literally under water. My grandparents had to evacuate their home. My county is under a flood warning, but no evacuation orders. The water is supposed to peak at 8pm tonight.

In happier news, Umbrella Academy season 2 has been announced for July 31st, and I'm semi-joking when I say I should call in so I can binge watch it lol.

Oh my goodness, my dear! Stay safe as you can!

Out here in 2017 we had record rainfall, and it almost collapsed Oro Dam, so I definitely understand that particular worry. I'm too far away for the dam to have affected me if it had collapsed, but a friend of mine lived right under the spillway and would have been directly in its path.

*HUGS* Thank you ♥ We made it through without even coming close to being flooded, thank god. My grandparent's basement was flooded but the rest of the house seems okay, too. What a year this is turning out to be >.

They're doing okay! Their basement was flooded but the rest of the house made it through okay.

That's good (about the house). I hope they didn't lose too much stuff. (in California, people use basements for storage. Possibly you guys don't?)

Basements are mostly used for storage, yeah! Though some people convert them into another living space, or a man cave, what have you. My grandparents used theirs for storage, but it also had their furnace and water heater, so it was a bit worrisome.

ugh bummer. :( I'm sorry.

We had just a furnace in our cellar until one fateful summer when my parents decided it would be a 'fun' family project for us 2 kids (9 and 11) to dig out the crawlspace under the house to extend the cellar into a real recroom and storage space. All summer long, crawling along under the kitchen with a bucket dragged behind me. I date my claustrophobia to that summer. :D

Michigan is really having a tough time of it, that's for sure. All my saved fanfic is backed up to dropbox so no matter what happens, I'll always have it! Priorities, I have them~

I'm not even on a forced vacation, sadly. I'm considered an essential worker, so I haven't quarantined at all.

I requested one from this past week but because we were leading up to memorial day weekend I didn't really get it. BUT I put in for 4 days off in mid-June and got that, so I have a small one coming up at least!

We had a lot of flooding here in the UK at the back end of last year... fortunately not in my area though.

I feel like things have turned out as well as they could have - nobody I know died or lost their home, my grandparents are good and have a place to stay, etc.
