Summary:

John and Rodney crash land on a remote island in Northern Canada. Based on The Long Dark by Hinterland Games, but you absolutely do not need to have played the game to read this fic.

M rating is for multiple dark themes but I promise it's mostly just the boys falling in love and being adorable (they just talk a bit about difficult pasts events). Please note the warning: there's a very brief attempted non-con attack involving a secondary character and one of the boys in chapter 8, but it's not graphic or gratuitous. This is only the first chapter, but I know for a fact the author has at least 11 of the 12 chapters written, since I've read them. I've been in a reading slump lately and this fic single-handedly pulled me from it. It's not nearly as dark as it seems, either. It's mostly sweet, with John and Rodney looking out for each other.
