Stargate Atlantis 15 Year Anniversary

15 years ago, Stargate Atlantis premiered.

 

I’ve written an essay. I made a trope list. I run the mcshep-everyday​ blog. I own the official tv show companion books and several of the novels. A friend knitted me John & Rodney dolls. I own McShep zines. I read kink fic.

Once, a long time ago, I created an ebook for sheafrotherdon​‘s A Farm in Iowa ‘verse, complete with apocrypha. I think I still have the word document somewhere, and it’s 550+ pages.

I’ve met some of the kindest, most generous people in this fandom. I consider them lifelong friends. We have met in real life and I’ve never felt so comfortable and understood by a group of people. I love them dearly. Every time someone moves on from the fandom, I mourn (though I understand, since it’s a closed canon now).

What I’m saying is: I love the show. I love the characters. I love John & Rodney, who are in the truest sense my One True Pairing.

These days I dabble in other fandoms. Right now it’s Good Omens. Before, it was Teen Wolf, Supernatural, Daredevil…

But SGA is always going to be my home.

Happy 15 years, Stargate Atlantis. Thanks for changing and bettering my life. Here’s to another 15!

Finding the SGA fandom has been pretty amazing for me, too. I didn't start writing for this fandom, but I did develop a stronger online presence because of it. And started running comms, and participating in challenges, and going to conventions.

Because of this fandom I met you, which makes me so, so happy. ::hugs::

SGA was the first fandom I ever read kink in, and my first time running a comm - or at least being coadmin - so I totally get where you're coming from. It's special to me.

So much love for all of this :) Though I'm pretty multifandom, SGA has by far given me the most, especially when it comes to having met awesome people who I'm so happy to call my extended family :) Love and hugs my precious friend, and happy SGA anniversary, ♥♥♥! ^_^

Fifteen years. I don't even have the words for what a positive impact this show and its fandom has had on my life, so I'm going to borrow some of yours.
