Hey guys! atlantisfilmfestival is now open for posting. The minimum word count for a movie fusion is only 1k ;) There's even an ao3 collection :D This is a low-key festival, no sign ups or anything required. If you're inspired, write and post~ I know what I'd like to get done (mcshep Practical Magic au)!

After three years, my job has switched me from second shift to mostly first (with a couple second shifts thrown in). It's been a difficult transition for me. I've never been much of a morning person. Working second shift meant I could stay up a little later and sleep in more, which I haven't been able to do lately. I'm tired all the time. I haven't written anything in ages, and what I have written feels flat. Mostly I've just been reading...

I'm hoping I can force myself to finish the next chapter of my werewolf AU (which I already have a start on) and, if I finish quickly enough, maybe get something done for the Atlantis Film Festival. No promises though, given how dull I've been feeling lately.

Yay! I have a couple of things planned.A WIP fic to finish for a classic movie based on a equally well known book, and a pic based on an about-to-be-released movie!
I hope your sleep pattern adjusts soon - that sounds like a bummer.

Oh durn. I just discovered the one I wanted to base the art on is a TV series, not a movie. Is that allowed? Or is it just movies?

Sure, understood. I'll still do that art, but will be guided by your modly consensus as to whether it can be linked to the Film Festival collection, given that the media the fusion's based on is small screen. :)

Yay! It's a big deal media release for fandom, so I guess it felt like a movie to me when I was planning it - and of course that means we'll get more than just 2-3 hours of content! I will press on!

Sleep schedules are the very devil to adapt, no matter the reason. I, myself, am insomnia's plaything, so I wholeheartedly commiserate over tiredness and how it interferes with writing.

But don't give up! Go ahead and read things and give yourself space to adapt, let things re-settle. I've found that if I stop trying to wring words from nothing and don't scold myself for reading or watching things (even if they're not direct source material) that at some point the words reappear in an unexpected surge. It never happens on the timetable I want, of course, because I want everything NOW... *rueful chuckle*

Anyway, the point is, you're a lovely person and writer, and you should take things at whatever pace necessary. I'll gleefully aid and abet such writing shenanigans as you may decide to get up to. =)

Thanks bb ♥ It's true that beating myself up about writing isn't getting anything done. So maybe I should just relax and let the words come to me...I just have so much that I want to get done!
