Merry Christmas - and thanks!

I know it's late, but I do hope everyone had a really good holiday - and happy new year!

I've been struggling a lot lately. I think I've reach a point of over-saturation. Political news is pretty much always negative these days and to say it's bringing me down is putting it lightly. I have no motivation to do anything these days except read and watch things - passive activities, basically. My work schedule has changed and it's really throwing me off, too. I'm working 6 days in a row right now (today was day 4), though half of them were short 4.5 hour shifts. But the half shifts were at weird times, so now my inner clock is confused, lol.

Things haven't been all bad. I'd like to thank otherearths_outthere, mific, librarychick_94, brumeier , and anyone else who donated some money so my dog can get her annual checkup (and thus renew her food prescription). I can't say my dog was as happy about it as I was (she's been avoiding everyone all day, poor dog. We've grievously betrayed her by taking her to That Place). I had enough left over to buy her a bag of dog food too, which was a weight off my mind.

I also want to thank everyone who sent a Christmas card. It really cheered me up to come home from a crappy day at work to open them up and admire how pretty they are :)

I’m so happy to help in any small way. I’ love our little community. Poor Sadie, she had to go to The Very Bad Place. So scary. I don’t know if you talked to your vet about the probiotics, but I forgot to mention two things; 1. The stuff is photo-sensitive and needs to be kept in a dark cool place. 2. Getting the dosage right is tricky, if you give too much, she might get constipated. But just lay off for a day or two if that happens.

I’m sorry that you are feeling so blah. Retail sucks totally and completely. The political news seems to grow worse with each day. I never really paid a lot of attention to politics until trumperdink, and now I can’t get away from it. I wonder just how bad it will get. I wish I could make things better and cheer you up. Remember our little community loves you.

I didn't go with the dog to the vet - my parents took her - because I had to work, so nobody asked about probiotics :( But the next time I go in to get a bag of food, I'll ask (though they may want to do an examination of her again before recommending them, IDK.)

Yeah, I never paid much attention to politics either. But things are so awful, and everyone is commenting on it, that it's hard to get away from. A lot of people are like, "We just have to last until we flip the house/senate in 2018, but I keep thinking 'What about the damage that has already been done?'"

I will remember our community cares about me - some days it's the only thing getting me through *HUGS*

I'm so glad you were able to get your doggie the appointment and the food she needed. ::hugs:: It's awful when there's not enough money to take care of our furry friends. Been there, done that.

Good luck with work! Hopefully things will ease up for you after the holidays are over. I'm going to be the reverse. We're losing two people at Second Job, so my hours are going to ratchet up until we hire more bodies.

Ugh. Work. Adult responsibilities. So done with all of that.

It really is awful :( We were going to wait until I got my tax returns back, but they said no food until her checkup, so it had to be done. I'm just glad I know so many wonderful people who can help, and want to.

Work is definitely slowing down, now! Though another big store closed in the area, so we're seeing more people because they're all coming here now. I miss the days when things were dead...

Oh jesus. I'm so sorry your hours are going up D: Why can't everything just be stress free??

Stress free? What would that be like? ::grins:: The best we can do it keep pushing ahead and really appreciate the good stuff when it comes our way. ::hugs::

I'm sorry 2017 has been such a struggle. I know it's been tough on a lot of people, myself included. I'm glad you were able to get the dog her check up--I've been sick for what seems like forever now and offline as a result.

Ditto on the Christmas cards. I always say I'm going to send them and never do. Maybe if I buy them now and put a reminder in my calendar for October 2018??

lol You can try buying Christmas cards now and put a reminder on your calendar. Do you check it? If you're talking about your phone calendar, those pop up a reminder...
