I went to the vet today to get my dog her food. She has a digestive condition, so we have prescription dog food for her. I was told I can't buy anymore dog food until she gets her yearly checkup done (to renew the prescription), and it's going to cost $125.

Haaaa, I so do not have $125. Rent alone is going to be $320 out of my $500 check.

My mom's been hospitalized twice the past couple months. She has COPD and kept having flare ups. They sent her home with oxygen tanks this time, and she's been fine so far.

Work is incredibly stressful. It's the holiday season and they never schedule me any help. But things die WAY down in January, so I just have to get there. Of course, I've got to work 6 days in a row before I get there, but I'm soooo close. SOON.

All the McShep fic being posted for sga_santa is making me sooo happy :D

I feel you. Rufio had been very sick for awhile one thing that helped him tremendously is doggie probiotics. I ordered some from amazon. It comes with a tiny, tiny scoop , but I only use half of the scoop. It has done wonders for him. I can get you the name of the kind I use.

Also, if you would permit me to pay for your dogs check-up, it would make me very happy. A Christmas present of health, if you will.

Oo yes, please pass on the name of the doggie probiotics you use. When I see my vet next, I can talk to her about getting my dog on them, though I don't see how there'd be a problem. A few years ago my dog was pooping and peeing blood because she wasn't digesting things right, or something? I'd like to avoid that, since it was terrifying.

Rufio had bloody diarrhea and was vomiting everything else. For years and years I tried to get him to loose weight, and now I’m trying to keep his weight up.

Anyway it’s called Probiotic Miracle, blue label, with pictures of a dog and cat on the front. It’s made by “nusentia” Yikes! I just looked it up, price wise, it’s $39. I didn’t realize it was so expensive. There might be other brands that are less so. It was my vet who recommended probiotics for Rufio, and she gave me some of her stash, before I bought my own. It was very likely a different brand. But the probiotics worked miracles for Rufio. Really.

Yeah, DW is such a pain with images *grimaces* Is this what you're talking about? I'd rather stick with what your vet recommended and that you use (since it worked miracles, and I trust your rec). The dog food I buy from the vet every 2 months is $35, and the dog's fish oil is $26.75, so while $39 is a lot, it's not more than I'm already paying for stuff lol.

Yes, that is exactly what I bought, and it will last Rufio *forever* He is about 12 pounds now, and like I said, I only give him 1/2 of the tiny scoop . I dont know if its the exact thing my vet had given me. I just researched different brands, Probiotic Miracle had a wide range of strains used

A one time fee of $40 is TOTALLY doable. My dog is 20 pounds - give or take a couple pounds - but she wouldn't need much either.
