So as I was reading chapter 524, I was thinking....

ZORO IS BACK ZORO IS BACK ZORO IS BACK!

And with Perona. WTF ODA, WTF? She laughs that he's been injured, then attemps to bandage him and succeeds in only making him look like a mummy. But never fear Zoro, you look hot even all mummified

Also, Nami and Franky landed on island that can help them get stronger. But...Zoro stuck with Perona? OH GOD, WILL ZORO GET HIS FIRST FANGIRL? Sanji has a bunch, though those are more fanboys. Since they're all very gay former-villains that are hot for our favorite cook's body. But he belongs to Zoro, so back off bitches. Anyway, I don't see the point of Ussop, Chopper, Robin, or Brook's islands. OMG, BROOK ASKED TO SEE PANTIES AND THIS TIME HE REALLY WILL. THAT PERVERTED SKELETON WILL HAVE HIS REQUEST FULFILLED!

It was wonderful seeing everybody again, especially Zoro. Of course. But now that I remember -- OMG ACE. NOOOO ACE, DON'T WISH TO DIE! You know it's serious when someone with The Will of D wishes to die. AND MIHAWK, OH MY GOD WE GOT TO SEE MIHAWK. He was all chillin' with his legs up, his huge ass sword on his back lookin' all pimp-like. And let me say, seeing Smoker again was very nice -- he seems to get sexier every time I see him.

Whitebeard is going to be ownin' some fools, that's basically what Garp was saying. I'm excited to see what he (Whitebeard) does.

HOW CAN ODA CREATE SO MANY AWESOME CHARACTERS? HOW CAN HE WRITE SUCH AN AWESOMESAUCE CHAPTER? Zoro, Ussop, Chopper, Robin, Brook, Smoker, Mihawk, and Ace. All in one chapter. *Foams at the mouth from over-excitement*

"But he belongs to Zoro, so back off bitches." *snort* *laugh* *nod* absolutely.

Ha, yeah, seeing Zoro was awesome, but damn I wanted to kick someone's ass, 'cuz poor Zoro he's still so beat up. And, yeah, WTF, that chick?

And Ace! OMG! NO! Don't say u want to die! I don't know why (he seems to be pretty popular) but I don't like Whitebeard. Hell, I'm probably just jealous or something 'cuz Ace is so incredibly loyal to him. But i dunno it feels weird to me HOW loyal Ace is. i can't wait to hear that story. hopefully? Whitebeard better be worth it!

Awww, but no Unka Shanks

Yay! and nope, no idea how that chick is supposed to be good for Zoro.

Heh,i guess a single chapter can only hold so much awesome sexy kickass-edness ^_^ There was already an overflow with Ace Zoro Mihawk and Smoker + the rest of the Strawhats. How much can one poor chapter (and crazy fangirl's brain) take? Oda-sama is wise *nods*

Totally agree with your sentiments. Zoro is sexy even as a mummy. XD

But how dare Perona take his swords? ¬¬*

Anyway, Zoro probably needed to be with someone who could point the way for him. Since, you know, he would probably just go "left" . That, or he would start following clouds again. :P

Brook must be in heaven right about now. All the panties he can see! He would probably get a nosebleed... except he doesn't have any blood! YOHOHOHO! (sorry, couldn't resist. XD)

While Sanji is in hell. He had to end up in Bon Clay's homeland, huh? Poor guy. He really fails at life... But we love him anyway. *blows kiss to fleeing Sanji*
But he belongs to Zoro, so back off bitches. I wholeheartedly agree. XD

Zoro will probably be weary of Perona, remembering her "horo horo" abilities, but in the end might just treat her like he treats Nami. He knows he can't beat her, but he doesn't like/respect her, either.
Taken into consideration that Perona will probably have to guide him until he is back with the crew, her becoming the tenth strawhat is somewhat of a possibility now...
(Just please, please, don't let it be that Hancock woman. Sanji would be impossible around her. >_<)

I must confess to being addicted to his skull/skeleton jokes (which one is standard? I've seen both used O_o). They come to me automatically when I'm talking about him. I actually had to choose between three skeleton jokes just for that simple phrase. ^^U

Yeah... I mean, sure, Sanji/Ussop is cute... and Sanji/Ace is beyond hot... but Sanji/Zoro will forever remain my favourite. *___*
Let's face it, there's chemistry there.

Eh, no, that's canon. Nami orders Zoro around with the threat of his debt hanging over his head. And he doesn't like her much because of it.

It would still make more sense for him to add the tenth (and final, if what Luffy said at the first episode is true) crewmember before they get to the New World. It would make it more complicated afterwards, since all there is beyond the Red Line are already established pirates.

If I had to choose, every new straw-hat member would be male, hot, and interested in the rest of the male, hot crewmembers. But we can't have everything, can we? ;_;
And there are only two females in the crew. It's kind of disproportionate.

It's easy when you think about it. Every time the subject of bodily functions comes up, even in an idiom, or every time a body part is mentioned (besides bones), you have a chance for a skeleton joke.
Like... "He was so creepy, it made my skin crawl... even though I don't have any skin!" or "I was laughing so hard my stomach began to hurt... even though I don't have a stomach!" and so on. Also helpful are expressions talking about life, breathing, and dying. Like his "I don't want to die! Oh, wait, I'm already... *disappears*" XD
Skeleton jokes are only funny because they are predictable. It reminds me a lot of the kind of humour in "el chavo", an old Mexican show in which each character would have a set number of exaggerated expressions and the humour was in that you always knew when they would say them. You could expect them to use each of their expressions at least once in every episode.

Hey, Usopp can be hot when he is not being a scaredy-cat. The problem is, he is a scaredy-cat most of the time. ^^U
And let us not forget Zoro/Luffy... and Johnny/Zoro/Yosaku, which is practically fanom as it is. But those three are hilarious or cute rather than hot. ^^U
A younger Zoro has its appeals. ;)

Your problem with Sanji is my problem with Watanuki. I just can't picture him with anybody besides Doumeki. :x

There are still chances of getting a crewmemeber later on, but it would have to be someone with a similar history to Nami or Brook, and that would be overdoing it. A former villain, now, we haven't had that yet.
Much as I hate it, Hancock's chances of getting into the crew look high. She doesn't seem willing to get very far from Luffy, after all. >_<

Each of them actually have several of them, and it's not only catchphrases; it's sometimes just a gesture, or a particular way of laughing, or a particular way of crying. The show is awesome, and it's a pity most of it is unstralatable (if that is even a word. :P).

I've loved Johnny and Yosaku since the first time I saw them, and deeply mourned the fact that they never joined the crew. Their war cry of "Aniki!" was a joy to the soul. But they weren't strong enough. >_<
And in my book: love 'em, slash 'em!
Though there is the occasional character that I find unslashable... like Ed from FMA, for example.

I generally have my OTP in each series I watch, but I also enjoy the occasional alternate pairing, if only for the creativity required in making it work. For example, there was a certain open request for a Kurogane/Doumeki that's making my plotbunnies restless... they do love a challenge. And those two haven't even met.
The problem would be to get someone to read it after it's done. XD

(BTW, I'm re-reading Tsubasa now and I'm up to Piffle world, in case you wanted to do the same and share insights. ^^)

We may not care for her now, but knowing oda-sensei, if she joined he would make us like her soon enough. He's sneaky that way. :P

Zoro's amazing if he managed to get his own fanboys when he wasn't even that strong yet (ok, he was frigging strong already, but I'm talking relatively here ^^U).
Come to think of it, that sounds good enough for an icon. Maybe we should let slip that phrase to some of the icon-making goddesses... *ponders*

The thing is, I prefer Ed with Winry. She's an amazing character and I think they make a cute couple (because you know that a tool to the head means love XD). I can like het too. :x
Incidentally, my fav character all around in FMA is Izumi-sensei. She's one of my fav female characters of all time. XD
And as a side note? Her hubby looks startlingly like my dad. Only, my dad has eyebrows... but he also looks scary without meaning to. XD
Oh, I have your problem, too. He’s too young to be with Roy right now. The thing is, I prefer my couples to be more or less the same age (with very few exceptions). I can only accept a young character in a pairing if the other party is young too. For example, I think that Gon and Killua from Hunter x Hunter would make a cute couple (both being around twelve), but Gon x Hisoka (about thirty) or any other would make me puke (despite actually having hard evidence -yep, that kind of "hard evidence"- in canon that Hisoka is after Gon. Darn paedophiliac >_<). I had serious issues accepting some canon clamp couples because of the same reason. >_<

Piffle world is the one about the race. Right now I'm at the part just after the preliminaries ended.

He was actually known to be so strong he was dubbed a "demon", even in his pirate-hunting days. Now that he is a pirate...
And yes, that makes perfect sense. It's Zoro we're talking about. XD

I also liked Greed (the original one) a lot. He was so cool... *sighs*
It's uncanny how much they look alike. It's almost as if they had seen a picture of my dad and thought of creating Izumi-sensei's hubby (is he even given a name? I can't remember...) to look like him. My dad is tall, has a considerable belly and muscular arms, a bushy beard, is dark-haired, and often looks scary without meaning to. His face is just naturally like that. He has to make a conscious effort to make it look less threatening. XD

Two of them are background couples in CCS, as a matter of fact. It's dealt with with a lost of taste and there's not even a kiss between any of the characters (even Sakura and Syaoran barely hug once), but those two couples still make me weary. If you read CCS you'll probably know who I'm talking about soon enough. :P
The rest of the couples I don't quite like are in X. I'm not too fond of the "I love you, thus I kill you/let you kill me" thingy some of the characters have going. -_-

Hunter x Hunter is an awesome manga (haven't watched the anime, so I can't say whether it's any good). It's dark, violent and bloody, but it has awesome plots and wonderful characters... even if there is the random WTF character and situation (case in point: Hisoka, the paedophiliac psycho. At one point he cuts off his own arm and munches on it for a little bit. He later has it re-attached, little eaten bits missing and all. Even the other psychos in the series are weary of him). It's by the same guy who did Yuu Yuu Hakusho (you may have heard about Hiei and Kurama?).

(continuing on Brook's jokes)

Well, the first I heard of them, they were translated as "skeleton jokes", so they kind of stuck in my mind that way. ^^U
It was a fansub, I think...
Let's see, taking your own words, if they were said by Brook, we would have two potential Skeleton jokes.
"that's the only way I've seen it as... but don't take my word for it; I don't have eyes!"
or "I can't even think up one. Of course, I don't even have a brain!" See? it's easy! And then you only have to add his own Yohohoing laugher after that, and voilá! :D
Of course, picking the timing is also necessary. They're punch lines, after all. ^^

It's my job to strip a concept I've grasped to its bare essentials so that somebody else will be able to understand it as well. If you've managed to teach somebody about ditransitive verbs, you can teach about skeleton jokes. ;D

Date: 2008-12-01 03:48 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] anyjen.livejournal.com
Translation: the verbs that have both a direct object and an indirect object. ^^U

For example: Watanuki took the insanely expensive bottle of aged sake to the merry drunkards.

"insanely expensive bottle of aged sake" is the direct object here, and "the merry drunkards" the indirect object. "took", thus, constitutes a ditransitive verb.

Transitive verbs (or monotransitive verbs, according to some grammarians) are the ones that only take a direct object, while intransitive verbs are the ones that have no objects at all. There are also linking verbs... but I'm not going to get into that now. You're not a student at a grammar class, so you don't need to expose yourself to that kind of pain. ^^U
We had very sadistic grammar teachers that would request we make sentences with the prompt: "grow" (ditransitive verb. habitual action in the past)
which meant they wanted: "I used to grow roses for my grandma."; or something similar. And they would always pick the most troublesome verbs (like the ones that can never be used with "to" or "for"). -_-

Yikes! I need to stop tutoring students for the entrance exams to my university. I'm getting into "teacher mode" way too easily. O_o

GAAAAAAH! Thank God I'm not the only one who's super-excited to see Smoker again! That fucker's been gone for, like, two hundred chapters, or something ridiculous like that. I love him. So much. Not even because he's frickin' hot, but mostly because he's such an awesome, justice-loving Marine. Seriously. I'm still fangirling over how he turned down that promotion after Arabasta, and basically told his superiors to go fornicate themselves with an iron stick. I love Smoker.

And Jesus Christ, does everyone in the known universe enjoy imprisoning Robin? Is this bitch gonna ever catch a break? Maybe those chains aren't kairoseiki, tho, 'cuz they don't really know yet that she's a DF user (maybe). Pure speculation.

Brooke = Satan = epic win. That's it.

And Zoro. What the fuck. Seriously. Thank God I'm not the only one who doesn't understand what the fuck that was about. Why Perona, of all people? I do not see how that works. And if there's some twisted, ZoroxPerona stuff popping up on the interwebz, I will start killing people. That is sick and wrong. He is exclusive property of Sanji (and vice versa). If some crazy ZoroxPerona stuff starts up in canon I might have to stop reading One Piece. If crazy ZoroxPerona stuff occurs, even while Sanji decided he's gay, I think I might keep reading it, just to watch the hilarity ensue. Sanji turning gay will make me overlook just about anything. Seriously.

I love Ace. I think I started crying when he asked to be killed. Althoug he didn't actually ask. Garp sort of repeated the request back to him. This is breaking my heart. Everything could get fucked up because of this. I love Ace. I want him to be okay. And God, how must Garp be feeling? He's had that tell-tale "shadow of doom and gloom" over his face for the last few chapters. Hurts my heart, it does, it does.

I'm sorry, but Sanji does not belong exclusively to Zoro. He's a slut, and that's part of his charm, girls.

And ZoroxPerona? You guys are tempting me to write a quick drabble of em two. After all, I wrote them SanSmo just because drifting hates that pairing so much. MUAHAHAHAHAHAA.

I'm loving Brooks island, and also Usopps!! He's got a weird middle aged bug-man guy. Whats not there to love? This chapter was so overwhelming I'm having trouble trying to pick it apart and say what parts are especially awesome because they all are!!

I'm liking Boa more than before but still object to any new characters from this arc joining the crew.
Except maybe the amazon lady with the round face and bob hair who explained to the little girl about Boas back. Does anyone know who I'm talking about? Shes got a name...

Honestly, I think he is, given the D family penchant for faling asleep at the most retarded times. Honestly I think Ace is related to everyone, but his surrname is "Portgas" probably so no one would know he was related to Garp, and also maybe so no one would try and use Luffy against him, or something equally gay. So, to me, Ace is totally related to everyone, he just changed his last name so no would figure out the relations. Yes. That is my analysis.

Negativity training. When his will no longer bends he will be stronger for it.

Or something.

Zorozorozorozoro. ;_; He's FINALLY back in the picture.

Awesomesauce.

I actually have to reread the chapter sometime, because when I read it I did it waaay too fast. And I also need to go to bed now, so that doesn't help much.

Hot damn. Zoro exerting haki is damn hot. lolol. I mean, already, just seeing him knocks me down, so what's a little fainting? Oh god, haki-using Zoro is so freaking getting me excited. He totally deserves it.

I wonder what will happen with him and Perona though. It's a question that I've been chewing on. I totally wanted Usopp there with Perona. It would have been epic. But alas, he's on an island of bugs and man-eating plants.

I still haven't reread. O_O scandalous.

I don't remember if I slept well, but imo I probably didn't get enough. My week has been going gewd (pronounced gooed, or something).

Yes, it's haki. I feel all impressed with my memory for the word. But I tend to remember things One Piece related more easily than other things, so never mind. XD. But to be on the safe side, before I actually said it, I looked it up.

I wonder if it's okay to say that I have absolutely no idea how to gauge how strong any character is compared to any other character. Like, okay, I understand that on Luffy's ship that the guys are stronger that the girls (physically anyway... more or less), but I'd have no idea how Luffy would pair up with, say, Whitebeard or something.

Maybe Zoro's so awesome and manly that he doesn't even need to get stronger. :P lol.

Officially, my last day of school is the 19th. We have the longest semesters in all of California or something. 18 weeks of pure unadulterated FUN. X3
