We have a history quiz every Tuesday over the chapter we were supposed to read for homework. Since I have about 3 1/2 hours in between classes on Tuesday, I always wait until then to read my History. So I'm in the library, reading away, and falling asleep while trying to take in the information about Greek polis and hoplites and whatnot. And then all of a sudden the book starts talking about homosexual liasons in the army and in society, and how it was accepted and regarded as having no impact on men's responsibility toward marriage and having children. Before I knew it, the chapter was over. I doubt any of that will be on the test, but it sure helped me finish the reading I was assigned to do! I'm now prepared for my weekly quiz and it was a pleasant way to become alert, yes it was.

So, I  can never say that "yaoi" has never done anything really useful for me. It helped me complete my homework and (hopefully) ace a quiz. :D

My Japanese class is so awesome, I'm loving it. Hiragana is difficult to remember -- I'm good with memorizing words and phrases - but I'm muddling my way through. XD The teacher will give us a weekly vocab list, and then we spend the rest of classtime playing games. Last time we played, "Go Fish", but we had to ask for cards (and say "Go Fish") in Japanese. Before class ended, my teacher gave a brief lecture on Ninja's -- while he lived in Japan (he taught English class there), he went to a building that used to be a place where real Ninja's lived way back when, and was turned into a meuseum. He showed us pictures of actual weapons they made that were found on site, and he was giddy like a little boy while talking about all the secret passageways, rooms, and panels the house had.

At the end of the semester, everyone is required to give a group presentation. My group decided on Japanese literature, with a special focus on manga and haiku. ^_^

*is jealous* I totally want your Japanese class. But I guess I'm just lucky to be able to be taking it. *sighs*

There are so many references to homosexuality in the old days. It makes history way more interesting to read. And it's pretty much the only thing I remember. lol.

Yeah, that would be awesome. It's not impossible... It would just be horribly horribly complicated and difficult. Not impossible though. lol.

It wasn't so bad today. She went off on a tangent about Son Goku because it sounded like someone said Goku when they were supposed to be saying Kankokugo. So many people started mixing up ku and ko today. It was crazy sauce.

And I was also able to answer her question about the Sengoku era. (She just asked if any of us knew what it was, warring states period and whatnot.)

Fear and loathing began with religion in a most ironic sort of way (I think. I don't really know, I'm just assuming.).

Son Goku = Saiyuki/Dragonball Z/Journey to the West/The Monkey King. There's a bunch of versions, but in any case he's pretty much the main character.

Kankokugo = Korean language. Kankoku is Korea. The suffix "~go" at the end marks the word as a language. Therefore Nihongo is the Japanese language, Furansugo is the French language, etc.

Crazy sauce is... actually anything sauce is my friend's fault. I have a tendency towards crazy sauce, lame sauce, and awesome sauce (to be more accurate, I say awesome sauceum). Anything can be sauce XD.

I don't mind. Aside from you, chances are, even if you start every Michigander, Michiganian, Michiganer, Michiganite, and Yooper saying whatever sauce I probably won't hear about it unless they're so active on the internet they've made it to my flist.

(lol, *obviously doesn't know what someone from Michigan is called without looking it up and finding five terms* (California is so easy. Californian (There are quite a few songs that mention CA, are there a lot about Michigan? (Do you like my parentheses in parentheses in parentheses? (Is obviously on crack (It's 4:34 AM).).))).).

I think I got those periods right. Well, even if I didn't, it probably doesn't matter.

Oh yeah... now that you mention it, people are weird about other people using stuff they came up with. Well... I try to be laid back mostly.

ahahaha, no, i sort of ... forgot? well, sort of, only. but yeah, since it's not an actual school sort of course (our school, having something as grand as japanese? pfft) and it's more of a ... a afternoon / evening class in an entirely other town. but yeeees. i mean, yeah, i know some (a lot? i don't know, i know the fangirl vocabulary xD) phrases and words, obviously, which was great fun because it's already easy for me to pronounce to words, so maybe i'll get to shine in class. XD;; but yeah, we'll probably start on the hiragana soon-ish, or we sort of already did, but. yeah. HOW CAN I MEMORISE ALL THEM SIGNS NOOOOOO. oh yeah, i can just imagine it. me, suggesting we read a yaoi!manga in class. it'd go down extremely well. XD;;

ahahha, well, i think it was something like three hiragana on every lesson, and then, after christmas, we'll start at the katakana. XD;; so yeah, it's a lot to learn, but hey, who cares, it's fangirl!speak japanese. 8DD HAHAHAHHA SURE. there're some old ladies in the class, too, and they're like, i don't know, 70? XD;; LET'S SHOCK THEM WITH SOME LUBEY MOTION HERE AND PERKY NIPPLES THERE!

ah, once a week. on wednesdays, one lesson lasts an hour and a half. so yes, it is rather great. :D but yeah, that's exactly it; once i remember something, sure, but then i learn something new and poof, they go out the window. gahhh. AHAHAH DON'T BE SO SURE. XD;; OH YES. YES, I SHALL REMEMBER THAT. PERHAPS I CAN WILDLY DEMONSTRATE THE LUBEY MOTIONS, TOO? JUST TO MAKE SURE THEY TRULY UNDERSTAND. perhaps i could even ask my teacher if he knows what "perky" is in japanese. XD;;

Now all you have to do is associate yaoi scenes with events in history, and you'll get an A+ on your test. :D

XD we balance each other out.

nihilvanum's words:

my dear
the problem is that
you love him so much
you would allow him
to drag you all the way to hell
if it meant you could
hold his hand
on the way down
