Computer Woes

I am stressed and frustated and wanted to give everyone a heads up.
My computer is broken.
It doesn't like recognizing when it's plugged in. The battery will get low, my computer will basically say "Warning: Power levels are low, please plug your computer in." But plugging in my laptop does nothing. It's like my computer doesn't even recognize it's plugged in - the battery will not charge. When the battery gets too low, my computer will shut down from a lack of power. For the last couple of weeks I've gotten by, mostly because I can fiddle with the part of the power cord that plugs into the laptop and get it working again. Much like when one headphone is dying, you can twist the little plug, and if you twist the plug just so, the headphone will start working again - that's my laptop.
Only tonight it's refusing to do even that. No matter how I fiddled, my computer wouldn't recognize it's plugged in. I've bought a new battery. I've bought a new power cord. It seems it's a problem with the hardware. Monday I'm going to call around and get quotes on how much it'd cost to fix, but since I have terrible damn luck, something tells me I may as well just get a new laptop (which I won't have the money for until February).
So I'm going to have to borrow my mom's laptop, which makes reading porn...awkward. She has one of those mini-laptops, with no CD drive and limited memory, but it's better than nothing.
And now I'm going to go cry from frustration and eat chocolate.
