(no subject)

I'm...a bit of a packrat. Okay, that might be a bit of an understatement - I really have problems letting go. So it's really no surprise that my computer is loaded with manga I've gotten over at the free_manga community, and several doujinshi's I've downloaded from various places. I usually keep the manga until I can buy it, then delete it. Unfortunately, I'm not buying as fast as I'm downloading. So I've signed up for Mediafire, and I'm going to put all my stuff on there until I've bought it. Then I'll delete it from there; seems like a good plan to me. My computer will  have more memory for more important things.

I sort of feel guilty though, like what I'm uploading isn't mine to upload. But this is only temporary! 

Am I just trying to convince myself, now?

I'm writing again, and this time no matter how much I dislike what I've got, I'm not going to delete. I'll edit, but that's it. I've been trying to get my courage up to post something on LJ, no matter what fandom it is, but I can't seem to gather enough courage. All the people here are really nice though (so it's a bit ridiculous to worry), and I was talking to flakedice and she convinced me to go for it. What I want to post is a Christmas fic, so I'll probably wait until it's around that time of year before posting it. I might post something before then (and most likely for a different fandom), but I doubt it. >.>

Hehe, I like to collect stuff too, but mostly designs and photos and some anime art from dA . . . and icons, which I think I've already told you about. XD That doesn't really take up much space . . . but I sorta know how you feel. *pats*

Yay for writing! You should post some of your writing on here sooner than that! I'm sure people will love it, and they'll probably have some good advice for you, too. It's all about having fun and slowing seeing yourself improve, right? You can do it! No worries. It's all love here. ^^

Yeah, you've told me about collecting icons. I, too, am a huge icon fan. I'm an iconholic....lol. Aw, thankies! I'm glad you understand how I feel. XD It's good to be understood. (I don't feel quite so guilty, now)

Writing's a lot of fun, but I hate my work so much, so I always wonder why others will like it. But you're absolutely correct - it IS all love here. :D And I could always use advice, and people here seem willing to give constructive criticism.

Hehe, I think all writers hate their work, but that doesn't mean everyone else will! In fact, they usually like it a lot. ^^ You'll never know till you just bite the bullet and DO it.

You're right - there hasn't been too many writer's I know that like their writing, and most people don't seem to hate mine when I post it. But I'm a perfectionist, so it's difficult to want others to see my crap.

I like it too! I have a thing for darker colors. I would prefer to have a layout from an anime or manga I like (shocking, I know) but I think only people with paid/permanent accounts can have those. :(

Yeah, I feel ya there. I'm a perfectionist too, but now I realize that other readers can help me in my quest for perfection. XD

I like dark colors, too. It just depends on my mood, hehe. Where did you get this one?

Well, I mostly post on this one website that's pretty notorious for an "anyone can post" deal. So you have 13 year olds and younger writing crappy stuff, so most people avoid that place. So I don't get much constructive critcism...though there ARE quite a few respectible writers on the site; they merely post there, though. No reading. *Continues rambling for another ten minutes*

Ah, I clicked on "customize" for my jounal and selected the "Show Only Themes Available To Me" option. *Shrug* XD

Ah, it's not a website that would interest you, but it's fanfiction.net

It does get really annoying. Usually what I do is go through the favorites of author's who CAN write well. It's how I find the good stuff XD

Ah, so I have heard of it. XD Never been there, though. I generally stay away from online writing sites just because, well . . . there's so much poorly written fan fiction and poorly writing things in general. dA is enough for me. =P

That's a good way to network and find the good stuff. *nods* I do that a lot on dA, and not just with writing. The ability to network is always a helpful skill that have.

There really is a lot of poorly written things on every site. Though I found this one site that recommends original fiction, and I liked the person's fanfic rec's, so I plan on reading her original fiction page.

You aren't interested in fanfiction, right? So that's another reason you won't visit FFN.

*Nods* It's a pretty good way to find nice fics. It doesn't always work though. I do it on DA, too - especially if the artist is in to the same things that I am.

Yeah, there really is a lot of poor writing on the internet. It makes it hard to find anything worth reading. I'm not terribly interested in fan fiction, though I like anything that's good. Finding good stuff is the hard part. =P

lol I love looking through the favorites of particularly tasteful deviants. XD Find lots of good stuff that way. ^^

It's easier to find things from talented people, because if they look for quality in their own work, then hopefully they'd look for it in others.

There are some websites that actually have moderators that read through everything that's being submitted to make sure it's quality writing. But not ever site does that, nor does every fandom have a place like that *shrug*

Yeah, that's true. It's just a matter of finding talented people to begin with. XD

Yeah, I think Elfwood is like that, but they don't really keep anything from being posted unless there's bad content. It just takes longer to get your stuff online.

I know this site that would have the moderators go over everything. But they were checking for grammar mistakes - the plot they left alone. So it could be grammatically correct, but boring or stupid. *Nod*

Eh, I'm not exactly sure what all is involved with elfwood. I friend told me about it a long time ago, so I took a look and never really did much with it. Supposedly, it's a community for fantasy and science fiction artists and writers.

I'm doing pretty awesome. I've been reading like crazy since Saturday. I'm almost done with my third novel. Eight more to go! XD Yeah, I've been meaning to read all Sigund Brouwer's novels for a while now. =P

So the 11 books you've been working on since Saturday are all Sigund Brouwer's novels? O.o So, he's an author you'd recommend, then? I downloaded like 13 ebooks this weekend, and I don't know where to start. How do you decide which book to read first?

Yup, they're all by Sigmund Brouwer. I don't have them all right now. I've been checking them out from the library as I need them. I just started with the ones my sister liked best and happened to have at the house. XD Works out nicely.

lol I used to be like that, too. Now I just have too many other things going on that I don't really think about it as much.

Ohhh, I see. Lucky! That's a great - and easy - way to decide where to start. I'm going to have to just pick a book at random and read it, I guess.

I wish I had a lot going on and had no time to think about it. Actually, I wish I have a life that's not internet-based. Not that I'm not happy with my internet life.
