I read and enjoyed all of Ex Patria. Maybe going in forewarned might make the open relationship thing more bearable? It’s a cracking good read with the Atlantis characters wonderfully badass, and taking no shit from Earth. They also have very hot new uniforms with lots of leather! It’s plotty like the Retrograde series, with the same cut off from Earth start, but with Atlantis going more in a Written by the Victors direction. Yes, Rodney has a couple of kids with a Traveler (so does John, with a Pegasus woman, but it’s not as noticeable with John as she and the kids are back home). But the real emotional and romantic relationship is John and Rodney, overriding that, in fact the other relationships are just mentioned, no details, other than Rodney and his kids. I recommend trying it. There’s a plotty bit with John and Cam surviving together, but it’s just action/adventure.
I really like Pegasus Purgatorio - an interesting AU. There’s a partial podfic, which sadly probably won’t be completed, the podficcer having wandered to other fandoms.
And SGA is still my core fandom and the one I read and play the most in, even though I explore a bit elsewhere. That’s not going to change. :)
