Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles 205
OH MY GOD. THE LATEST TSUBASA CHAPTER.
I will give no spoilers beyond this:
There was this full-page picture of Fei Wong Reed AND ALL I COULD LOOK AT WAS HIS ENORMOUS ASS-CHIN AND IT TOTALLY RUINED THE TENSE MOMENT. A;DSKJF;ASKF HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
OH GOD, MY RIBS. THEY HURT.
And Kurogane?
HOT HOT HOT.

I still don't totally understand the whole Fai/Yuui deal. Some re-reading is in order, most definitely. :P
Favourite scene? uhm... in xxxholic, mittens, mittens!!! It was so adorable when Doumeki got those mittens from Watanuki and was so obviously happy about it... he kept flexing his hands and watching them. And making sure they were knitted especially for him. :3
And the "sorry" bit... when Doumeki tried to see what kind of face Watanuki was making. That was so cute! XD
The lady of the spiders bit, when Doumeki forcibly uncovered Watanuki's eye (that must have been the only time we saw him get really angry)... and the whole "sharing the load" bit.
Then, with the whole spirit-woman-thingy, when Watanuki almost disappeared, the part where Doumeki walks past Watanuki and then he calls him back... the look of surprise, and then the smirk, on Douemki's face was priceless. :3
(are you noticing a pattern here? it's mostly the DoumekixWatanuki scenes I loved. XD)
Besides that, it must be the first time we got to see Mugetsu in action.... boy, but was he kickass. Gotta love a pet that can be both cute and fluffy and huge and powerful... and breathe fire. Kitsune fire (which is not regular fire), but still.
In tsubasa... the drinking scene, where Fai and Sakura kept acting like cats, and Syaoran got all flushed and silly, with that manic glint in his eye... XD
Besides that... the "Ou-sama" bit when Touya and Yukito first appeared in an alternate universe. It was so much fun that everybody kept calling him that afterwards. XD
Aaaand... uhm... oh, Ryu's first appearence! Man, but had I missed that boy... he was my favourite character in RG Veda.
It's mostly repeated situations or little winks that I like the most. Like Fai calling Kurogane "the daddy" because he is so overprotective of Sakura and Syaoran. Or Mokona's eternal mission to annoy Kurogane.

HAHA All my favorite scenes are the Doumeki/Watanuki ones too. I recently re-read the manga, and every time I came upon the scenes I'd read it through, then go and do it again.
Ohh, I remember the Touya/Yukito scene. So adorable ♥ I liked it when Kurogane wished for Fai to live, when Fai punched Kurogane, and when Kurogane sacrificed his arm for Fai. Haha, I think there might be a theme for my TRC favorites too.
Ryu? Is the the one that wanted to be like Syaoran in Outo country?

Ooooh, yeah. Great scenes, those ones. But to tell you the truth, I really need to re-read tsubasa. I've got most of xxholic practically memorized, but I've slacked off with tsubasa... :P
yeah, Ryu was the boy with the ridiculously big sword who became Syaoran's friend in Outo country.
Him and Kujaku (who, like Yue, seems to have remained exclusively for his original series) were my favourites in RG Veda. If I couldn't get another glimpse of gorgeous Kujaku, at least I could enjoy cute Ryu instead.
Ah, I really liked the bit with Ashura and Yasha, too... Particularly when Ashura began to dance when Sakura played. That was cute. :3 It's a pity Ashura and Yasha couldn't have a happy ending in tsubasa, either, but still, it was great to see them again.
Protective!Kurogane is only bested by indignant!Kurogane (which generally comes immediately afterwards, since Fai and/or Mokona will invariably be around to tease him about it. XD)

Do you know when you're going to re-read TRC? I plan on doing it soon. Tsubasa seems like it's a lot longer than 'Holic, though it's really not. Do you know which one was started first?

Kujaku? Lol I don't know who that is.
Ashura and Yasha aren't original to TRC? I'm guessing they showed up in RG Veda, too? Their story was so sad. :( I don't clearly remember their end in TRC...wasn't it sort of bittersweet? Like, they were dead but could be together, or something?
I love it when Mokona and Fai drive Kurogane up the wall. And then he chases Fai with his swords and they can be seen in the background. XD *Giggles*

Clamp have stated that they are planning to continue it, probably after they finish with xxxholic and tsubasa. And considering they don't start drawing a story until they have the whole plot written down, it's highly likely that's what they will do. It would seem a waste to have ten volumes' worth of plot that is never going to see the light of day. They had to stop serializing it because the magazine where they published it broke, or something, and went off the market. But something similar happened to Clover after they had done two volumes, and they published the remaining ones by themselves. They certainly are rich enough to do that.
Eh, I think Tsubasa was started first, and xxholic not long afterwards. It was almost simultaneous. But xxxholic has had shorter chapters all along, so there are fewer volumes of published material. That's why Tsubasa is a bit longer.
And you won't know him unless you read RG Veda. He was an awesome guy... yet the level of his suffering is not unlike that of Fai... so you can imagine how much Clamp made us Kujaku lovers suffer with his story. ;_;
Actually, Ashura and Yasha are the main characters of RG Veda. And they suffered a heck of a lot more in that manga. Their end in Tsubasa may have been bittersweet, but that doesn't even beign to compare to how much more depressing their ending was in RG Veda... though yes, with a tiny little ray of hope.
But they are still one my favourite couples of all times. >_<
He chases Fai with his swords? seems to me you're too used to talking about Zoro. Kurogane only has one sword... albeit a very long one. XD
