The Story
Beelzebub is the story of a delinquent named Oga Tatsumi, who has just finished beating up a bunch of punks when a large man floats down a nearby river. The man splits in half, revealing a naked, green-haired, pacifier sucking baby. This is no ordinary baby, however, and Oga is stuck with the task of raising the child until little Beelzebub comes of age and destroys mankind. Explanations about why Oga was chosen is explained in the manga, and I don't want to spoil it. Oga goes to a delinquent school, which is ruled by a group of powerful, scary people. One by one and through incidents outside of his control, Oga has to fight these strong people.

The (Main) Characters

Oga Tatsumi
Oga is the main character of the series. He's described as, "strong, arrogant, and thinks-nothing-of-fellow-man" by others. His best -- and only -- friend is Furuichi. He often gets into fights without evening trying, as others attack him and he is forced to defend himself. Still, he shows no mercy and even asks those he has defeated to bow down to him. He is currently a first year at Ishiyama High School, and lives at home with his parents and sister. His family assumes that he had sex with Hilda and Beelzebub is the result, and as such as invited Hilda into their home. Oga shows no ability to be outright kind and welcoming, instead showing an alarming expression when he attempts to smile.

Hildegarde

Hildegarde prefers to be called "Hilda". She's a demon maid who has been tasked with helping Oga raise Beelzebub. She is honored to be appointed "mother" of the future Demon King. She dresses in gothic lolita clothes, and is thought by Oga's classmates to be his bride. She rides a flying creature known as an Ak-Baba as transportation and owns an umbrella which conceals a sword in the handle. Oga's family is under the impression that Oga and Hilda had sex and that Beelzebub was the resulting consequence.

Furuichi
Another first year at Ishiyama, Furuichi seems to be the only person that's not a delinquent so far, showing no fighting ability. He's often the only to notice and point out the absurdities in Oga's situation, acting as the rational and most passive member of the group. Furuichi seems to be Oga's only friend, and is often the one that Oga goes to for conversation. He is comically referred to as "idiot Furuichi" by Oga.

Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV
Known as Beelzebub or Baby-BL, he is the son of the Devil King. He is very attached to Oga, clinging with a vice-like grip to Oga's back. When he is agitated or sees blood, he will spontaneously electrocute anyone within his vicinity. Without Oga, he is physically weaker than even the average human child, but contact with Oga allows him to unleash his demonic powers. Beelzebub's characteristic cry is "Daabū!" and he is always naked with a pacifier in his mouth.

Alaindelon: He is first seen floating down the river, shot dead by arrows. By splitting in half, he delivers Beelzebub to Oga. Alaindelon is introduced as a dimensional transfer demon in the third chapter. His character has a big build and is seen wearing a tank-top and briefs. Despite his big build he is somewhat weak.

In conclusion
The manga is mostly a mixture of humorous moments and fighting scenes, though the two often go hand-in-hand. It's also filled with adorable panels that make me want to hug Beelzebub. The manga is short, only twelve chapters, so those who haven't read it yet don't have to spend a week getting caught up. The fandom is nonexistent, and even if one doesn't form I'd still like people to read the series for personal enjoyment. Some might be concerned about how Oga treats Beelzebub, but the baby totally loves it when Oga is a monster (look at those sparkling eyes), and he never actually gets hurt.
